Ottoman Masterpieces by the Bosphorus

This museum is in very beautiful historical palace with a beautiful garden. The museum is right at the Bosphorus and you can get a great view of the surrounding areas. The museum houses a huge collection of paintings and artifacts from the ottoman period and onward. Unfortunately it is not allowed to take photos inside the main building of the museum. The attached photos are from the museum exterior and its surroundings.

Brilliant Lighting and a Refreshing Perspective

probably the best-lit art museum i have been to. the rooms are dark with individual lamps pointed at both the paintings and the signage. After touring the art museums of Vienna and Budapest, which include paintings and sculptures that depict the Ottoman armies as the devil incarnate, it was refreshing to see the art from an Ottoman perspective. Highly recommend.
