An Istanbul classic for 14 years and a favorite of Turkish and foreign guests, Vogue Restaurant has also been named by Zagat Survey as one of the best restaurants in the world.

Why visit Vogue Restaurant

The appeal of Vogue lies in the combination of refined dining and one of the city’s memorable panoramic settings. Looking out over the Bosphorus, the restaurant offers a stylish stop for visitors who want to pair a special meal with Istanbul scenery. Its location also makes it easy to combine with nearby sightseeing, especially a visit to Dolmabahce Palace and other Bosphorus-side highlights.

If you are planning a day around the area, you can also continue toward a Bosphorus Cruise or explore more of central Istanbul before dinner.

Menu and atmosphere at Vogue Restaurant

Vogue Restaurant is known for a menu that brings together international flavors, Mediterranean influences, a wide sushi selection, and an extensive wine list. The venue’s molecular cocktail menu adds another layer to the experience for guests interested in creative drinks.

The interior is chic and minimalist rather than overly formal, which helps create an elegant but comfortable setting. Combined with the Bosphorus view, this gives the restaurant its long-standing reputation among both local and international guests.

Pair your meal with nearby Istanbul attractions

One of the easiest ways to enjoy Vogue Restaurant is to include it in a broader day of sightseeing. A popular option is beginning with Dolmabahce Palace and continuing to viewpoints on the city’s hills.

According to the original tour recommendation, the Dolmabahce Palace & Two Continents tour is a great start to a vacation. In this tour, visitors are welcomed to the recent residence of the Ottoman Dynasty and the royal family. Dolmabahce Palace was used as the main residence for running state affairs, and it also served as the living place of the Sultan and the royal family from 1856 to 1887 and 1909 to 1922. It is the final palace of the Ottoman Empire, ordered by Abdulmecid I.

It took 13 years to build this breathtaking palace, and the construction cost was said to be 35 tons of gold. In total, Dolmabahce Palace was home to 5 different sultans of the Ottoman Empire, and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of the Turkish Republic, also lived and governed the Republic there for a brief period until he moved the capital to Ankara. This is also where Ataturk died in 1938 at 09.05, and in order to honor his memory, all clocks are stopped at 09.05 at Dolmabahce Palace. There you also encounter the magnificent view of the Bosphorus and the Bosphorus Bridge.

Afterward, the route may continue to Camlıca Hill, one of the seven hills of Istanbul, which offers an opportunity to watch the sun go down over the Bosphorus and the Marmara Sea. For background on the palace, you can also consult the official source at millisaraylar.gov.tr.

Continue to the Old City after Vogue Restaurant

Another suggested pairing is an Istanbul full-day old city tour, which provides historical context for the city before or after your dining plans. The tour starts with the Roman Hippodrome, where chariot races and occasional festivals were organized during the Roman and Byzantine periods.

It then continues to the Blue Mosque, the iconic Ottoman mosque with six minarets, built between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Ahmed I. The complex includes his symbolic tomb, a madrasa, and a hospice, and it remains an active mosque today.

Next comes Hagia Sophia, also known as the Church of Divine Wisdom, followed by the Grand Bazaar, where visitors can explore Turkish handcrafted products ranging from carpets to leather jackets and souvenirs.

After lunch, the tour continues with Topkapi Palace, one of Istanbul’s most visited museums, containing collections such as the Imperial Treasury, portraits of the sultans, holy relics, silverware, and glassware from the Byzantine and Ottoman periods, along with gifted silverware from around the world. The route then passes the outside of Hagia Irene Church, located in the outer courtyard of Topkapi Palace, and ends with visits to Caferaga Medresseh and historic Sogukcesme Street.
